I woke up on Wednesday morning and glanced at my phone, and saw an email from Doc. Trulear regarding the prayer line. My heart was already heavy from dealing with financial issues with the agency and also, the court issues with my son Malcolm. Malcolm had been incarcerated since Christmas Eve due to a domestic violence issue with his partner. For the most part, I try to keep these things to myself and continue with my regular daily prayer with just me and the Lord, but on this morning I was lead to reach out to the prayer line. I tell you the enemy was busy that morning because I hesitated to prepare but the nudge of the Holy Spirit was stronger. I got up and sent a prayer request by email regarding the financial strains in the agency, and then when I called in on the line, I mentioned that I had court that morning for my son Malcolm. Malcolm has a history of incarceration ever since I was released from prison, he has struggled with his impulsivity as it relates to his mental health issues. In addition, he struggled with personality issues and matters relating to his sexuality. On this call the group prayed for me and my requests, but then after the call I got a personal call from Apostle Karen Dixson and she revealed what the Lord has shared with her regarding my prayer needs. Pastor spoke right into my spirit, she specifically spoke to the split personalities that Malcolm has been struggling with and how difficult it has been for him to choose the right way to live. He has struggled with these issues since the age of 18 when he informed us he was homosexual. So for all these years he's tried to fit in and cope with life but to no avail he would always choose the wrong side and end up in prison. Apostle Dixson stated that she would fast and pray that morning and that I am to call her when the court hearing was completed. 

 

To God be the glory! As I was preparing to depart for the courthouse, I was running a little late due to the call, but I received a text message from Malcolm's attorney that said and I quote: charges were dropped against Malcolm and the judge granted him immediate release! He should be released within the hour! I dropped on my knees and praised the Lord. He is already working it out. I called Pastor and we both celebrated the victory. Malcolm is back at the office working at the front desk and making the necessary scheduled appointments to take care of his physical and mental health needs. It is a blessing to have him back home. 

 

I tell you the enemy knows that we work to restore the lives of those previously incarcerated. He knows how important each of us are to this mission of being the examples of Christ for those who do not believe, so he will continue to come after my children but through the grace of God and prayer of others I will continue to pray and trust the Lord for what He is already doing.
